Long known as an IT outsourcing hub, India is now emerging as a major data centre hotspot as new investments pour in. Despite generating around 20% of the world’s data, India hosts only 3% of global data centres. By the end of 2025, the country had amassed significant capital for new developments.

Artificial intelligence is surging into every corner of modern life, and data centres are emerging as the backbone of this transformation. But as governments and corporations race to build this infrastructure, requiring vast amounts of electricity, water, land, and critical minerals, the key question becomes: where, and how, should it be built? 

By utilizing computing power to track supply chain and product emissions, companies will gain a better understanding of total emissions, where these emissions originate, and what policies can be implemented to reduce them.
